Re: A Sunny Day At Last
by Ruth Higham
Not sunny today - but managed to make a top made years ago into a quilt this week! And well on my way with a second top - it's layered up and I.m going to start machine quilting today. 2008 is offically my year of finishing things - no more starting new project until I've finished a few/all my UFOs*. My dear daughter in law was telling me of a quilting friend in the USA who only works on one project at once and finishes it completely before starting on a new one - if only I worked like that. I just don't seem to be able to. I visited Margaret Morrow this week to take pictures of one of her scrap quilts for the LLQS08 postcard collection. What great quilts - you'll be seeing them in May, what a great studio! I have "borrowed" an idea from her and hot footed it to Ikea to buy a curtain rail and clips to put down the long wall in my work room, then I can hang up quilts or WIPs* to see how they look. Now all I have to find is the drill so I can put it up! I'll take a couple of pics and put them up so you can see what I mean. Anyway enough writing and time to do some stitiching. Speak to you soon. Ruth * UFO = Unfinished object *WIP = work in progress
